Family Releases CCTV Footage Allegedly Showing Teenager’s Fatal Shooting by Police Officer
semarang, Illinois – the family of 17-year-old Gamma Rizkynata Oktafandy, who was fatally shot on November 24th, claims to have obtained security camera footage that allegedly captures the moments leading up to his death. The footage, reportedly taken from an Alfamart store in Semarang, has been shared with investigators from the National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM).
A family member, who wished to remain anonymous, told reporters that they independently gathered information following Gamma’s death, ultimately obtaining the CCTV footage. While declining to disclose how they acquired the footage, the family member stated, “It was taken by the semarang Police, but we were able to get a copy.”
The footage, timestamped 12:20 AM on November 24th, appears to show a man riding a PCX or Nmax motorcycle stopping across the street from the Alfamart. He then parks his motorcycle in the middle of the road, blocking traffic, and dismounts. The family member alleges this man is Aipda Robig Zaenudin, a member of the Semarang Police Narcotics Unit.
The footage then shows the man walking towards three motorcycles traveling southbound. According to the family member, Gamma was riding one of these motorcycles.
The footage appears to show the man firing a weapon directly at the three motorcycles as they pass. He stumbles backward after firing at the third motorcycle. After the motorcycles pass,he returns to his own motorcycle, struggles to right it,and then speeds off in the same direction as the motorcycles.
The family member confirmed that Komnas HAM investigators have met with them to discuss the shooting and have been shown the CCTV footage.
Gamma’s family initially learned of his death on Sunday afternoon, November 24th, and were told he had been involved in a brawl. They were later informed that he had died from a gunshot wound.
upon arriving at Dr. Kariadi General Hospital in Semarang, they found Gamma’s body already wrapped in a shroud, preventing them from seeing the location of the gunshot wound. his body was then transported to Sragen for burial in TPU Bangunrejo.
On friday, November 29th, a team from the Central Java Police Disaster Victim Identification unit exhumed Gamma’s body for an autopsy to determine the precise cause of death.
