Actor Song Kang has expanded his personal investment portfolio with the acquisition of a luxury residence in Seoul’s Seongsu-dong district. The purchase, valued at 6.7 billion won (approximately $4.54 million to $5.1 million), marks a significant entry into one of the city’s most exclusive residential enclaves.
According to real estate industry reports and Supreme Court registry records, Song purchased a single unit measuring 227 square meters at the Seoul Forest Hillstate complex. The transaction was finalized in late June, with ownership registration completed in November 2025.
Financial Details and Market Timing
The acquisition is noted for its timing relative to South Korean government policy. Reports indicate the contract was finalized on June 27, the same day the government announced new real estate measures. By completing the purchase on this date, Song avoided tighter lending regulations that were implemented immediately following the announcement.

Registry documents show a maximum secured loan amount of approximately 4.6 billion won. Based on standard Korean mortgage settings, it is estimated that Song borrowed roughly 4.2 billion won, which represents about 60 percent of the total property price.
This transaction represents the highest recorded price for a unit in the Seoul Forest Hillstate complex since its establishment.
The Prestige of Seoul Forest Hillstate
Seoul Forest Hillstate is recognized as a representative luxury complex that helped transform Seongsu-dong from an industrial hub of warehouses and shoe factories into a premier destination for high-net-worth individuals. Developed by Hyundai Engineering & Construction and completed in June 2009, the complex consists of five buildings and 445 households.
The complex is noted for an architectural design featuring glass blocks and blue-toned finishes, intended to evoke the imagery of a yacht on the Han River. Its high-rise units provide residents with views of the river and proximity to the Seoul Forest area.
The residence is known for attracting a high concentration of public figures. Notable residents of the complex include:
