According to initial reports, the pilot of the aircraft, which was en route from Tolú, Sucre, reported mechanical failures to air traffic control before attempting to reach the Olaya herrera Airport. Tragically, the plane never made it to the runway, crashing in a nearby area.

The two injured occupants of the plane, a 55-year-old woman and a man, were transported to local hospitals by ambulances from the Medellín Ministry of Health. they sustained head and chest injuries, and also other traumas to their faces. Their conditions are currently being monitored.
