Central African Elections: President Summons Electoral Body

President Faustin-Archange Touadéra of the Central African Republic has⁤ signed a decree summoning the electoral‌ body‍ for the frist round of presidential, legislative, regional, and⁤ municipal elections on December 28, 2025.

The electoral campaign​ will⁣ run from December‍ 13th ‍(6:00 am) to December 26th (midnight). Voting will take place on December 28th from 6:00 am‌ to 6:00 pm.

The decision was made following a proposal ​from ⁤the⁤ President of the national Elections‍ Authority‍ (ANE) and after consultation with the Council of Ministers. The ANE President, in ‌collaboration with the government, will implement⁤ the decree according to the electoral⁤ code.

The decree is effective promptly ⁣upon signing and will⁤ be⁣ published in the ⁤Official Journal of‌ the ​Central African Republic.

Political observers view‌ these ​elections as a notable step in the country’s democratic consolidation after a period of political and security ⁣instability.
