Chance the Rapper Faces Backlash as Spokesperson for AI Cloud Company Amid Lawsuits
Chance the Rapper, the Grammy-winning hip-hop artist, is now the face of CoreWeave, an AI cloud computing company, as part of its new “Ready for Anything, Ready for AI” campaign launched during the Olympics. The partnership has drawn criticism, particularly as CoreWeave is currently embroiled in multiple class-action lawsuits alleging violations of federal securities laws.
In a new advertisement, Chance the Rapper delivers the line, “You can’t spell ‘anything’ without ‘AI.’ And AI could be anything.” The ad debuted today, .
CoreWeave’s Chief Marketing Officer, Jean English, stated in a press release that the campaign “expresses our belief in what innovators need next: an AI cloud designed to perform at scale, evolve with ambition, and carry bold ideas forward.” English added that “AI is entering a moment where performance, scale, and durability shape what’s possible. This campaign establishes CoreWeave as The Essential Cloud for AI and lays the foundation for a brand built to grow alongside the future taking shape right now.”
The reaction from Chance the Rapper’s fanbase has been largely negative. Ed Zitron, a tech analyst, posted on Bluesky, “If there is one thing Chance The Rapper fans love it’s bare metal compute. Absolutely perfect market. Just check out how enthusiastic his fans are! They love it and they’re ready to move their cloud infrastructure.”
The timing of the campaign coincides with the release of Chance the Rapper’s new track, “untitled (2026).” It remains unclear whether artificial intelligence played a role in the song’s creation.
The lawsuits facing CoreWeave, as reported by the Financial Times, allege violations of federal securities laws. Details of the allegations were not immediately available.
