The video, which has been widely circulated on social media and is now at the center of a police investigation, shows the Charger plowing through a crowd.
Anaheim Police Department Sergeant Jacob Gallacher said: “This is absolutely unsafe and unacceptable behavior. When police arrived on the scene, no one was found under the vehicle. However, two 19-year-old men were seriously injured. , lying in the middle of the road.”
The two injured people, from Lancaster and Orange counties, were taken to UCI Medical Center and are currently in stable condition.

Meanwhile, multiple cars and hundreds of people occupied the intersection, with drivers performing stunts and even setting off fireworks.
A resident named Hugo said in an interview that he could not sleep because of the riot that night. He said: “I was worried because I seemed to hear an explosion.” This kind of illegal activity made him nervous. “It has happened before, but when the police showed up, they dispersed.”
Anaheim police say there are challenges in solving such problems. Gallacher explained: “Previously, these events were organized through open-source web pages on social media. Now they use WhatsApp and other social media applications to contact people to identify where these events are taking place.”
In 2021, the city of Anaheim enacted a law targeting street bullies and onlookers, allowing law enforcement to punish those who gather to watch. “Watching can be a violation in the city of Anaheim and it can be a misdemeanor,” Gallacher said.
The city of Anaheim says street occupations are a problem, but the overall number of occupations has been decreasing. “In 2020, we had about 1,700 incidents. So far this year, we’ve dealt with about 720.”
Gallacher said video of Friday’s street-fighting incident was crucial to the investigation, so they asked anyone who may have additional information or footage to contact police.
