Chargers’ Alt Carted Off Field with Ankle Injury

Chargers’ Alt Carted Off Field with Ankle Injury

November 2, 2025 David Thompson - Sports Editor Sports

Nashville,⁤ Tenn. – Teh Los Angeles Chargers suffered a blow to their offensive line during Sunday’s⁣ game against the Tennessee Titans when⁤ left tackle Joe Alt sustained a right ankle injury late in the second quarter. ⁤Alt⁣ was carted off the field, and the team initially⁤ listed⁤ him as ‌questionable to ⁣return as of⁢ 4:49 PM Central‍ Time on november 26, 2023.

This isn’t the first ‌time alt has battled ⁤an‌ ankle issue‍ this season. He⁣ previously missed three games⁣ with a sprained right ankle,‌ returning to ‌action on October⁢ 23rd during the⁤ Chargers’ victory over the ⁤Minnesota Vikings. The injury occurred after‌ an incomplete pass attempt by quarterback Justin Herbert.

With Alt sidelined, ‌Jamaree Salyer stepped in at left tackle. Unfortunately, the offensive line struggled instantly after the change, conceding a second sack on the very next play. The situation⁣ was⁤ further‌ complex ‌by an⁣ earlier injury ⁣to right tackle Bobby Hart, who exited the game in the first quarter ⁢with a groin injury.

The Chargers’ offensive ⁤line depth is now being ‌severely tested. Losing both starting tackles presents⁤ a significant challenge for protecting Herbert and establishing a consistent running game. ⁣The team’s ability to overcome these ⁣injuries will be crucial as they⁢ navigate ⁢the remainder of the season.
