The St Johnston community is rallying together to support a young boy, Zach, who is currently undergoing life-saving treatment in the Netherlands for a rare and aggressive blood disorder, high-risk Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS).This devastating diagnosis comes as Zach’s mother, Patrice, is herself battling Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), having received her diagnosis just a year prior. The family is facing immense challenges, with Zach now in Utrecht for approximately three months of intensive inpatient care at the renowned Princess Máxima Centre.

In a heartwarming display of solidarity, a charity tractor run is being organized to raise vital funds for Zach’s medical expenses and to support his family during this incredibly tough time. The event promises a day of community spirit, entertainment, and a chance to contribute to a worthy cause.

The day’s festivities will commence with registration at 9:00 AM, followed by the official departure of the convoy at 11:00 AM sharp from CCCP Carrigans. All vehicles, from tractors and trucks to cherished vintage cars, are warmly welcomed to join the procession. The entry fee is a modest €20 per vehicle, making it an accessible event for many to show their support.
Following the run, participants and supporters can enjoy refreshments at the Carrig Inn Bar. The event will also feature a thrilling raffle and an exciting auction, offering further opportunities to contribute. Adding to the festive atmosphere, live entertainment will be provided by popular guest artists Simon Peters, robbie and the Rascals, and David James, ensuring a memorable day for all attendees.
