Château de Bourdeilles Contemporary Art Opening – France
Tuesday, August 19, “It’s time!” », The first monographic exhibition of the sculptor Jules Andrieu, and the first artistic event of this scale at the Château de Bourdeilles, will open its doors to the public. The works will be arranged in the Renaissance gardens and in the 13th century castle. They offer a visionary look at the evolution of abstract bronze and steel sculpture.
In partnership with the Semoutour, the artist reveals a set of pieces paying homage to different eras of human history, as well as one of the seven wonders of the world still visible today.
Bronze, steel and aluminum
Two unpublished sculptures were specially created for this exhibition. The artist invites visitors to contemplation and escape, at the heart of a place steeped in history.
His works are made with primary materials such as bronze, steel, aluminum, silver or gold leaf. He draws his inspiration from caves, magic and memory.
33 years old and trained at the School of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe (Germany), Jules Andrieu installed her workshop in Périgord Noir, in Carsac-Aillac. A land of stone, legends and inspiration, where he devoted himself to sculpture. In his workshop, he organizes initiation and discovery courses.
Practical. The exhibition is open from Tuesday, August 19 to Sunday November 2. The event is accessible with an entrance ticket for the castle.
