Chef Damian Pentelow Brings Global Flavours to Padma Resort Ubud
Padma Resort Ubud has appointed Executive Chef Damian Pentelow. He aims to inspire fresh ideas for the resort’s award-winning dining.
Damian hails from South Africa. His cooking passion began in his grandmothers’ kitchens, where he learned to grill and smoke food over open flames. This early experience influences his culinary style today.
He began his career in South Africa’s fine dining restaurants. He later worked on a luxury cruise ship and became the Head Chef at a notable South African tapas bar. Damian spent eight years with Club Med in Southeast Asia. In 2018, he became the youngest Executive Chef in Club Med’s APAC region, showcasing his talent and dedication.
At Padma Resort Ubud, Chef Damian focuses on simple, globally inspired flavours. He aims to create a relaxed dining experience that reflects Ubud’s lush environment.

“Learning is continuous,” says Damian. “I gain insights from books and, importantly, from my team. The kitchen is a place of endless knowledge.”
Looking ahead, Chef Damian wants to help Padma Resort Ubud create memorable dining experiences while celebrating Bali’s vibrant fine dining scene. He sees great potential for culinary innovation on the island.
