NEULENGBACH, Austria (AP) — Former model Cheyenne Ochsenknecht, 24, has been appointed president of the USV Neulengbach women’s soccer club. Ochsenknecht, who resides in Wahl-Styria, aims to elevate the visibility of women’s soccer in Austria.
Ochsenknecht’s Vision for Women’s Soccer
The club,in a statement,said Ochsenknecht “stands for attitude,courage adn the conviction that women in sports are no longer allowed in the shade. It not only brings awareness, but above all a clear vision: more visibility, more support and new structures for women’s football in Austria.”
Ochsenknecht, a German native who has been living in Styria for several years with her husband, where they operate a cattle breeding business, said she “wants to make a difference with Neulengbach.” She added, “Women in football do great things, frequently enough without the recognition and opportunities they deserve. It is indeed time to change that.”
“New Era” for USV Neulengbach
The club hopes that Ochsenknecht, daughter of actor Uwe ochsenknecht, will usher in a “new era.” The goal is to rethink the approach to women’s soccer,rebuild its structures,and redesign its future to benefit the entire institution sustainably.
Coaching Team Announcement
The association said the new coaching team will be introduced Friday, May 9. Ochsenknecht will not be present at the announcement but is expected to attend the last home game before the summer break.
