Cheyenne, WY – Get ready to place your bets, Cheyenne! Cowboy Racing, a company dedicated to revitalizing horse racing in Wyoming, is gearing up to open three off-track betting locations in the city. Pending approval from the laramie county board of County Commissioners, residents will soon have new options to enjoy the thrill of pari-mutuel wagering.Cowboy Racing, which received permits for live racing and simulcasting from the Wyoming Gaming Commission in November, aims to create a “world-class, state-of-the-art racetrack and equestrian centre” in the state. The company envisions a 300-acre recreational destination that will benefit horsemen,jockeys,breeders,and all those who support the sport.
The three proposed betting locations offer diverse atmospheres for racing enthusiasts:
Fire Station (1720 Cleveland Ave.): This location is currently undergoing renovations and is expected to open its doors on March 31st. Open seven days a week, the Fire Station betting site is projected to attract around 150 patrons daily.
Westby Edge Brewing (714 W. 20th St.): A dedicated section within the popular brewery will be transformed to accommodate live simulcasting and 52 historic horse racing terminals. Like the Fire Station, this location will be open seven days a week and is also slated to open on March 31st.
old Chicago (1734 meadowland Drive): Following the restaurant’s closure in April,Cowboy Racing will renovate the building into a dedicated betting facility. This location,projected to draw an average of 275 customers daily,will feature 150 historic horse racing terminals,including 24 in an outdoor smoking room. the target opening date is March 15th.
The Laramie County Board of County Commissioners holds the authority to authorize pari-mutuel wagering, which encompasses a variety of events including horse racing, harness racing, chariot racing, and simulcasting of dog racing and historic horse racing.
