City dwellers know to expect ⁣the rumble of traffic and crowded sidewalks. But what about unwanted, tiny roommates? Orkin has just released ⁣its annual bed bug report, and the findings might make your skin crawl.

The report, which analyzes data from both commercial and residential bed bug treatments between May 15, 2024, and May ⁤14, 2025,‍ reveals which metro⁤ areas are battling the biggest infestations.

“It’s critical that people know the best ways to identify,⁣ prevent, and control these pests,” says Ben Hottel, an Atlanta-based Orkin entomologist. And he’s right. Bed bugs are notoriously resilient, making them a ‍nightmare to eradicate once⁣ they’ve settled into your home ⁤or even ⁢a hotel room.these tiny pests, only about 3/16 of an inch long, prefer⁢ human blood to that of your furry friends. They’re masters of disguise and travel, hitching rides on luggage, purses, and other personal belongings. This makes them incredibly easy to⁣ transport from place to place.

So, which cities are facing the biggest bed bug battles? For the fifth consecutive year, Chicago claims the top spot. Following closely behind are ⁣Cleveland, Ohio, and Detroit, Michigan.
