Attempted Murder of Donald Trump: Suspect’s Letter Reveals Desire to Kill Former President

The Prosecutor’s Office has published a letter from Ryan Wesley Routh, the suspect in the attempted murder of Donald Trump, in which he reveals his desire to kill the former president of the United States.

Routh, a 58-year-old construction worker and staunch supporter of Ukraine’s opposition to Russia, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after visiting Trump’s golf course in Florida for a month. He had a semi-automatic rifle, with a telescopic sight and ammunition, as well as a digital camera and two rucksacks containing ceramic plates, which he intended to use as a bulletproof vest.

The suspect’s plan did not come to fruition after a Secret Service agent reviewed the area where hole 6 is located prior to the arrival of Donald Trump, seeing that the barrel of his rifle was visible in the bushes, opened fire. Routh fled the scene, but a witness identified his car and license plate, which allowed him to be detained by police an hour later, and charged with criminal possession of a firearm illegal and manipulated in order to delete his number.

Routh’s Letter Reveals Motive and Desire to Kill Trump

In the letter, Routh warned of the failure of his plan and offered $150,000 to whoever could complete the job. He accused Trump of “ending relations with Iran like a child and now that the Middle East has fallen apart.”

“This was an assassination attempt against Donald Trump, but I regret that he failed. I did what I could and used all the courage I could muster. Now it’s up to you to complete the job and I will offer $150,000 to whoever can do it,” Routh wrote.

Investigation and Charges

The Prosecutor’s Office has requested the detention of Routh, within the framework of a preliminary hearing in a Palm Beach court. The investigation is ongoing, and Routh faces charges of attempted murder and criminal possession of a firearm.
