China and Ghana Elevate Bilateral Relations to Strategic Partnership</h1

Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, where they announced the elevation of bilateral relations to a strategic partnership.

President Xi Jinping highlighted Ghana as the second sub-Saharan country to establish diplomatic relations with the People’s Republic of China. He expressed China’s willingness to strengthen friendship and mutual trust with Ghana, promote cooperation in various fields, and support common development. China will continue to provide economic development assistance and improve people’s livelihoods in Ghana. The two countries also plan to enhance coordination in international and regional affairs.

President Xi Jinping emphasized the significance of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum Summit in Beijing, which has established successful experiences in the China-Africa friendship relationship, direction of action for promoting modernization, and ways of achievement. China aims to work with Ghana to realize the summit’s results.

President Nana Akufo-Addo congratulated the success of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum Summit, acknowledging China as a friendly country and reliable partner for Ghana. He emphasized Ghana’s commitment to friendly relations with China, the one-China policy, and support for China’s position on human rights and other issues.
