China, Russia Enhance law Enforcement Cooperation on Terrorism, Separatism
China and Russia are increasing their law enforcement cooperation, focusing on combating terrorism, separatism, extremism, and drug trafficking. The pledge came during a meeting between Chen Wenqing, a top Chinese security official, and Sergei Shoigu, his Russian counterpart.
Chen, secretary of the Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission, affirmed China’s commitment to working with Russia to enhance law enforcement and security cooperation. This collaboration aims to boost the growth and modernization of both countries.
Shoigu responded that Russia is ready to work with China to safeguard their core interests and promote global stability. The meeting marked the 10th session of the China-Russia law enforcement and security cooperation mechanism.
According to Tass, Chen stated that China and russia are “jointly countering terrorism, separatism, extremism, drug trafficking and other challenges.”
“We are fighting together against attempts to harm sovereignty, security and development issues.”
Xinhua reported Shoigu as saying, “Russia is willing to work with China to enhance the level of law enforcement and security cooperation, effectively safeguard the core interests of the two countries, and bring stability into the world.”
