China-Russia Joint Strategic Air Patrol
China and Russia recently conducted a joint strategic air patrol over the Sea of Japan and the western Pacific Ocean. This exercise took place on November 29 and 30, 2024. A spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of National Defense, Zhang Xiaogang, stated that the patrol was part of the annual cooperation plan between the two countries’ militaries.
Zhang emphasized that the joint patrol does not target any third party and is unrelated to current international or regional tensions. The air patrol aimed to test and improve the training and operation capabilities of both air forces.
This collaboration showcases the commitment of China and Russia to strengthen their defense relations while maintaining a focus on mutual cooperation.
