US Quadrilateral Meeting Sparks Tensions with China

A recent meeting of the USA-Japan-India-Australia quadrilateral mechanism in the USA has drawn attention to US President Joe Biden’s comments on China.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jien responded to the meeting, stating that the quadrilateral mechanism is a key component of the US’s “Indo-Pacific Strategy” and serves as a tool to counter China and maintain US dominance. Despite Washington’s claims that the mechanism is not aimed at China, the meeting’s primary focus was indeed related to China.

Lin Jien urged the United States to abandon its attempts to restrict China’s growth and not compromise the interests of other nations for its own gain. “I urge the United States to reject its obsessive efforts to limit China’s development and not to sacrifice the interests of other nations for its own interests. All these efforts are doomed to failure,” the spokesperson emphasized.
