The reduction in flight frequency comes as part of a broader shift in regional operations during the second quarter of 2026. In addition to the decrease in Southeast Asian capacity, AeroRoutes reported that Chinese carriers are implementing service suspensions for flights to Hong Kong and Macau during the same period.
Route Adjustments
Despite the overall trend of capacity reduction in the region, some carriers are introducing new services. Shanghai Airlines is scheduled to add a route between Shanghai and Singapore starting in June 2026.
