The Sentencing and Qian’s Response
At southwark Crown Court in London, Judge Sally Ann Hales delivered the sentence, stating that Qian “played the central role” and that her “motive was pure greed.” The judge also emphasized the elegant planning involved in the operation.
Qian, appearing in court wearing a floral Asian dress, reportedly showed emotion during the sentencing, shedding tears on Monday and appearing affected by the declaration on Tuesday.Her lawyer, Roger Sahota, stated that she “accepts her conviction” and is “deeply sorry for the distress caused.”
