Chris Holsten Opens Up About Heartbreak After Split with Vivild Falk Berg

Chris Holsten is opening up about the emotional toll of his recent split from actress Vivild Falk Berg, describing the period as “completely awful.” The Norwegian artist, known for hits like “Slå hjerte, slå” and “Smilet i ditt eget speil,” shared his vulnerability in a new interview with Aftenposten, offering a candid look at navigating a public breakup and the search for personal fulfillment.

Holsten and Falk Berg confirmed their relationship in February 2024, after meeting at Holsten’s 30th birthday celebration in 2023. The pairing quickly garnered attention in Norwegian media, with the couple appearing together at industry events. However, in October 2025, their agents confirmed they had decided to go their separate ways, stating they parted as good friends.

The breakup, which followed nearly two years together, proved difficult for Holsten to process, particularly given the public nature of his profile. “Going through a breakup is never fun, I wish we didn’t have to comment on it,” he told Aftenposten. “It wasn’t easy to say the right things. I was crushed and in shock and in grief. A breakup is not something you can get a master’s degree in handling.”

Holsten acknowledged the added pressure of societal expectations surrounding relationships, and family. “I’m at an age where I have other types of checkboxes, I don’t just want to find a girlfriend, but an anchor in life,” he explained. “I envisioned a future with her. Even though I don’t have a biological clock like women do, there is still a clock there. I want to give my mother grandchildren. That’s something only I can give her of us children.”

The artist, who has also participated in popular Norwegian television programs like “Hver gang vi møtes” and “Stjernekamp,” described a feeling of emptiness following the split, having previously prioritized his career over personal relationships for a decade. “the vacuum after the breakup is so extreme. Even though we hadn’t been together for more than two years. Now I’m turning 33 soon. I feel like I have to start over a bit. It’s been absolutely awful. Period.”

Despite the pain, Holsten is finding solace in his music. His latest album, “Bedre dager,” contains songs that remind him of a time when he was deeply in love, a period he now cherishes. He is currently embarking on a 29-city tour across Norway, using his performances as a way to connect with fans and process his emotions.
