Current Status and Severance package

Christian horner is free to pursue opportunities with other Formula 1 teams starting in mid-2025 after finalizing a severance package with Red Bull Racing on September 22, 2024. The BBC reports the settlement was worth approximately €60 million (approximately £52 million).

Horner was removed from his position as Red Bull team principal following the British Grand Prix in July 2024. The dismissal followed an internal investigation into allegations of inappropriate behavior.

Teams Deny Approaches or Interest

despite speculation, several Formula 1 teams have publicly stated they have not engaged in discussions with Horner.

Alpine

Otmar Szafnauer, Alpine’s former team principal, indicated there were no current plans to bring Horner onboard. According to Autosport, Szafnauer stated, “I don’t no what they talk about. Everything I know is there are no plans for christian to come to Alpine but that doesn’t meen it won’t happen.”

williams

James Vowles, the team principal of Williams, confirmed that Horner had not contacted them. Vowles expressed satisfaction with the current team structure, stating,”We’re very happy with the structure we have and it’s working. I don’t see any reason to change from that,” as reported by Autosport.

Cadillac

Dan towriss, CEO of the Cadillac team preparing for its F1 entry, ruled out any contact with Horner in August 2024. He stated, “There have been no talks with Christian Horner and there are no plans to do that,” according to Autosport.

Looking Ahead

While no immediate opportunities appear available, Horner’s severance agreement allows him to join a competing team in the middle of 2025. The Formula 1 landscape remains dynamic, and future possibilities cannot be ruled out. His extensive experience and proven track record as a team principal make him a potentially attractive candidate for several organizations.
