NBC News is expanding its streaming news offerings with a new two-hour program hosted by veteran business correspondent Christine Romans, set to launch in summer 2026 on the NBC News Now platform.

The program will air weekdays from 10 a.m. To noon Eastern Time, marking a significant expansion of NBC News Now’s live news coverage, which will increase to 14 hours per day from 7 a.m. To 9 p.m. ET on weekdays as part of the same initiative.

In addition to hosting the new show, Romans has been appointed Chief Business Correspondent for NBC News Now, a role in which she will work closely with the network’s Business and Economy Unit to lead coverage of major financial and economic developments.

Romans brings more than two decades of experience from CNN, where she served as a senior business correspondent before joining NBC News in 2023. Her expertise spans inflation, government fiscal policy, global markets, and the economic impact of geopolitical events.

The new program will be produced from Studio 3A at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York City, which NBC News describes as a “state-of-the-art space designed to elevate our live programming and support the future of streaming news.” The move to this facility is part of a broader effort to modernize the network’s streaming infrastructure.

NBC News Now, the network’s free ad-supported streaming news channel, is distinct from MSNBC and will not be confused with the now-discontinued MS Now service. The expansion reflects NBC News’s strategy to strengthen its digital news presence amid growing viewer demand for streaming news content.

Industry observers note that the appointment of Romans to a flagship streaming role underscores the increasing importance of business and economic news in digital platforms, particularly as audiences seek clear, data-driven reporting on topics such as interest rates, employment trends, and corporate earnings.

While specific details about the show’s format, guest lineup, or production team have not been disclosed, NBC News emphasized that Romans’ track record of securing interviews with leading CEOs and influential figures across industries will be a central asset to the program.

The expansion of NBC News Now’s live schedule and the launch of Romans’ program are part of a broader trend among traditional news organizations to invest in streaming news as a core distribution method, leveraging the strengths of established journalists to build credibility in the digital space.
