The film marks the largest domestic debut in history for a movie starring Matt Damon in the lead role, topping the $69.2 million opening of 2007’s The Bourne Ultimatum, not adjusted for inflation. For director Christopher Nolan, the opening represents his highest-grossing debut for a non-Batman feature, coming in ahead of Oppenheimer and trailing only The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises.
