Christy Knowings, All That Star, Dies at 46 After Asthma Attack

Christy Knowings, the multi-talented actress, singer, and dancer best known as a central cast member on Nickelodeon’s iconic sketch-comedy series All That, has died at the age of 46. According to her family, Knowings passed away after suffering a severe asthma attack that resulted in brain damage and subsequent hospitalization in the Los Angeles area. Following the medical emergency, her loved ones made the decision to remove her from life support on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2026.

Her manager, Al Hill, confirmed the client’s passing in a formal statement provided to Variety.

Christy was a multi-talented lady. Whether it was singing, acting, dancing, she was always creating. Always professional and dedicated to her work.

Television Career and Impact on All That

Knowings established a notable presence in television and youth programming during the late 1990s and 2000s. Before her breakout role on children’s television, she built her resume with early appearances on dramatic and sketch programs, including New York Undercover and the Rosie O’Donnell-produced television special And Now This.

Her career reached a wider national audience in 1997 when she joined the main cast of Nickelodeon’s hit sketch-comedy series All That. Over a three-season run spanning from 1997 to 2000, Knowings became a recognizable fixture of adolescent entertainment. During her tenure on the show—which later incorporated performers such as Nick Cannon and Gabriel Iglesias—she originated several memorable recurring characters, including Lieutenant Fondue, Brenda Stone, and Jessica from Whateverrr!!!

In addition to her sketch work, Knowings appeared as a panelist on the Nickelodeon game show Figure It Out. Her television credits also extended to educational programming, including guest appearances on Sesame Street alongside her twin brother, Chris Knowings. She later returned to celebrate the network’s history during the All That 10th anniversary special, and eventually expanded her creative output into independent music with the release of her 2020 folk single, To the World.
