Raw Power Games, a new studio composed of developers from titles like “Hogwarts Legacy” and “Assassin’s Creed Odyssey,” has announced it’s first game, “Chronicles: Medieval.” Unveiled at Summer Games Fest, this enterprising title places players in 14th-century Europe, where they must navigate a complex socioeconomic landscape to achieve ultimate power and influence. The medieval game emphasizes player choice in forging their own legend.
In “chronicles: Medieval,” players start as characters with humble origins and strive to climb the social ranks. They can pursue various paths, such as becoming a mercenary, bandit,or joining the King’s Army. As players gain honors and tournament wins, they can expand their influence through diplomacy, trade, alliances, subterfuge, and espionage. Warfare is also an option for those seeking to conquer Europe by force.
the game incorporates proprietary simulation technology that introduces unexpected events like famine and plagues, which can create opportunities for players to seize more land or forge alliances against common threats. Raw Power Games aims to simulate large-scale battles, allowing players to command armies in past and compelling conflicts. A co-op mode will also be available for custom battles.
Modding is a key feature of “Chronicles: Medieval.” Community Manager Clemens Koch emphasized that modding is integral to Raw Power Games’ vision. According to Koch, modding allows for unique scenarios, such as “A hundred Thomas the Tank Engines vs. one master Chief.”
Raw Power games plans to release “Chronicles: Medieval” in Early Access on PC in 2026. The studio intends to collaborate with the community during the Early Access period, which is expected to last about 12 months, before the official release. Console releases may be considered after the full launch. The developers consider it a premium title that will fully utilize its time in Early Access, but not a Game as a Service.
What’s next
