For cinema goers, seating comfort is frequently enough a determining factor in the quality of the viewing experience. The increasingly long duration of films, the variety of genres with intense emotions, and the habit of watching as a form of relaxation mean that cinema seats are no longer just a facility, but rather an integral part of the cinema experience itself. From ergonomic backrests to ample legroom, the aspect of comfort is now increasingly being paid attention to by cinema managers.
As entertainment technology develops, this convenience is starting to be combined with more immersive innovations. Not only visual and audio, sensory elements are also starting to be introduced to deepen the audience’s emotions without sacrificing comfort. This approach is the background for the strategic collaboration between Cinépolis Cinemas Indonesia and LUMMA in presenting the latest Magnify8 sensory chair technology in Indonesia.
Magnify8 technology officially launched in late December 2025 as a next-generation sensory seat format designed to subtly and measurably amplify the atmosphere of a film. Different from high-intensity sensory formats, Magnify8 emphasizes soft vibrations that are synchronized with the audio and dynamics of the film, so that the emotions of the story can be felt deeper without causing distraction or physical fatigue.
CEO of Cinépolis Cinemas Indonesia, Alejandro Aguilera Garibay, said that the presence of Magnify8 is part of Cinépolis’ ongoing efforts to redefine the viewing experience.
“Cinépolis Cinemas Indonesia is redefining comfort and immersion through an exciting collaboration with LUMMA, bringing the Magnify8 chair to the Indonesian market. This is an innovative step designed to enhance the cinematic experience of our guests,” he said.
Magnify8 will make its debut in indonesia in November 2025 in four initial locations, namely Cinépolis Senayan Park Jakarta, Plaza Medan Fair, Mall of Serang, and qmall Banjarbaru. Expansion then continues in December 2025 with the opening of Cinépolis Malang Town Square, Living World Pekanbaru, and Lippo Plaza Sidoarjo. In the future, this technology is planned to be present in more cities in Indonesia.
