Project Concept
The Circulation workshop is a space for repairing and reselling products. It was created in a renovated semi-basement location. This space serves as an extension of previous projects by laicoS, merging retail and repair services.
Design Features
- Retail Space: The front area sells products, maintaining a minimalistic design.
- Workshop Area: The back section focuses on repairs. It is sealed and insulated to manage humidity, ensuring high-quality service.
- Repurposing Elements: The design utilizes existing structures and materials, enhancing sustainability.
Functional Layout
- Sales Space: Features a sloped floor that presents challenges for furniture placement. The original shoe racks were repurposed for this area.
- Workshop Accessibility: An aluminum-frame sliding door divides the sales space and the workshop.
- Additional Areas: Include shelving and counter spaces thoughtfully placed to enhance the flow of the space.
Community and Sustainability Focus
Circulation emphasizes retrofitting and repairing, promoting environmental consciousness. By encouraging local participation through workshops, it builds connections within the community while supporting sustainable practices.
