The City of Bellaire Parks, Recreation and Facilities Department has announced its 2026 Lifeguard Certification Course schedule, offering multiple sessions for individuals seeking certification to work as lifeguards at city-operated aquatic facilities.
The certification courses are designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies, including providing care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries, and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services personnel arrive.
Course Schedule and Structure
The 2026 Lifeguard Certification Courses are offered in three separate sessions, each following a blended learning format:
- April 22-26: Wednesday-Friday for blended learning portion, Saturday-Sunday for in-person sessions from 8:30 am to 4 pm
- April 29-May 3: Wednesday-Friday for blended learning portion, Saturday-Sunday for in-person sessions from 8:30 am to 4 pm
- May 13-17: Wednesday-Friday for blended learning portion, Saturday-Sunday for in-person sessions from 8:30 am to 4 pm
Location and Registration
All in-person training sessions will be held at the Bellaire Town Square Family Aquatic Center located at 7001 Fifth St. The department notes that if the location changes, instructors will contact all registered participants directly.
Prospective participants must contact Alex Adrion at aadrion@bellairetx.gov to check availability and secure a spot in the course. The city emphasizes that this certification class is only available for individuals who have been hired to work as lifeguards for the City of Bellaire.
