Anthropic Launches Claude Opus and Sonnet on Amazon Bedrock

Anthropic has introduced its next-generation Claude models, Opus 4 and Sonnet 4, now accessible on Amazon Bedrock. These models are designed to enhance coding capabilities, advanced reasoning, and the development of autonomous AI agents. Amazon Bedrock broadens AI options, allowing users to create transformative applications with enterprise-grade security and responsible AI controls.
Opus 4 is Anthropic’s most clever model to date, suited for AI agents handling complex tasks like code refactoring and research synthesis. sonnet 4 balances performance and cost, making it ideal for high-volume tasks such as code reviews and content generation. Both models offer near-instant responses and extended thinking modes for deeper analysis.
Developers can access Opus 4 and Sonnet 4 via the Bedrock Converse API using specific model IDs. Opus 4 is available in the US East (Ohio,N.Virginia) and US West (Oregon) AWS Regions. Sonnet 4 is available in North America, APAC, and Europe, including regions like Singapore and Tokyo. Cross-Region inference is also supported.
