New York-based Clear Street has entered the equities and options clearing market, offering services to registered market makers for U.S. listed securities. This marks the firm’s return to the professional clearing space after nearly a decade.

Chris Pento, CEO and co-founder of Clear Street, said the company’s ambition is to become a global, multi-asset provider of clearing and financing services. He added that the market is ready for a technology-focused provider capable of scaling across various asset classes, client types, and geographies.
Clear Street is a member of 29 U.S. equity and options exchanges. The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) recently approved the firm to provide clearing services to registered options market makers.
This declaration follows Clear Street’s Series B funding round in December 2023, led by Prsym Capital. The raise increased the Series B total to $685 million, valuing the company at $2.1 billion.
