Clevercare Health Plan (hereinafter referred to as Clevercare) is strengthening customized health insurance benefits for Asian seniors, including Korean Americans.
CleverCare is currently providing program information for the 2025 Medicare registration and change period, which runs until December 7.
On the 7th, about 100 seniors aged 65 or older gathered at the LA Koreatown Aroma Center. On this day, CleverCare Health invited Medicare Advantage Plan subscribers and explained the programs it currently offers. Senior subscribers eligible for Medicare familiarized themselves with the health insurance benefit information provided by CleverCare and compared it with programs from other insurance companies.
CleverCare was founded by Myong Lee with the goal of providing customized health insurance for Korean and other Asian seniors. Although it is a new company that began providing the Medicare health insurance program in 2000, it is growing rapidly by seeking to differentiate itself from existing insurance companies.
In fact, according to CleverCare, the number of current Medicare program subscribers has increased rapidly from the initial 500 to 29,000.
The background for this growth is that Clevercare’s strengths include reflecting the characteristics of the minority community, providing Korean language services, a network of more than 900 Oriental medicine doctors, a network of more than 50 hospitals and 15,000 medical staff, and PPO dental insurance.
In addition, CleverCare subscribers can enjoy health prevention benefits worth up to $300, including groceries, non-prescription drugs (OTC), herbal health supplements, and gym membership.
In particular, CleverCare opened a community center at Koreatown Plaza in LA’s Koreatown in February, allowing subscribers to visit in person to inquire about medical services and obtain information. This center offers Korean language counseling, meditation, yoga, and health classes.
Chairman Richard Green said, “CleverCare has received great response from minority communities, including the Korean community, with the number of subscribers doubling over the past two years,” adding, “We are doing our best to break down the barriers to access and use health insurance for Asian seniors, including women and Korean Americans.” efforts were made. “We will continue to provide more customized Medicare health plans that are essential for seniors in the Korean community,” he said.
