Riga, Latvia – A program aimed at empowering young women to become future leaders and entrepreneurs is set to continue in Latvia next year, thanks to a proposed funding boost. The Climate and Energy ministry (KEM) is seeking to allocate €50,000 from its budget to the Education and Science Ministry (IZM) to support the “Future Heroes” initiative.

Launched in Estonia in 2016 as “Superheroes” and later rebranded as “Future Heroes Estonia,” the program has been making waves in the Baltic region. Lithuania joined in 2021, and Latvia followed suit in 2020.

“Future Heroes” targets girls aged 14 to 17, providing them with a platform to develop essential leadership skills, acquire in-demand workplace competencies, and contribute innovative solutions to pressing societal issues.
