A 24-year-old man from Clonmany appeared before Buncrana District Court facing a total of ten charges, including six counts of dangerous driving.

Kyle Toland, of Mindoran, Clonmany, is accused of a series of alleged offenses that took place on April 26, 2026, across several locations in East Donegal.

The court heard that the dangerous driving charges are linked to incidents at Derry Road in St Johnston, Main Street in Carrigans, Dundee in St Johnston, Lifford Bridge, and Station Road in Lifford.

In addition to the driving charges, Mr. Toland is charged with driving without a license, driving without insurance, and failing to produce documentation on April 26, 2026. He also faces a charge for refusing to provide a sample of blood or urine under Section 12 of the Road Traffic Act 2010.

A separate dangerous driving charge relates to an alleged incident that occurred on January 3, 2026, at Cabry, Quigley’s Point.

Legal Proceedings and Bail

Defense solicitor Frank Dorrian informed the court that the majority of the charges resulted from a sequence of events during one continuous episode.

Sergeant Conor Mulkerns stated that the court is still awaiting directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), noting that further charges may be added to the case.

During the proceedings, Mr. Dorrian applied to vary his client’s bail conditions. He requested the removal of a previously imposed curfew and asked that the signing-on condition be transferred to Blessington Garda Station.

The court was told that Mr. Toland is currently unemployed but intends to seek employment in the Leinster area, which necessitated the change in his bail address.

The State raised no objection to these requests, and Judge Emile Daly granted the variation of bail. An application for legal aid was also made on behalf of Mr. Toland.

The case has been adjourned to Letterkenny District Court, where it is scheduled to be heard on September 14, 2026.
