Club World Cup: J Balvin, Doja Cat & Tems to Perform
J Balvin, Doja Cat and Tems to Headline Club World cup Half-Time Show
The Club World Cup final in New Jersey next month will feature a half-time show with performances by J Balvin, Doja Cat, and Tems. The move mirrors the Super Bowl’s successful entertainment format, aiming to elevate the tournament’s profile.
Balvin, the Colombian singer, doja Cat, the U.S. rapper, and Tems, the Nigerian star, will each perform during the 15-minute break. The Club World Cup half-time show, curated by Coldplay’s Chris Martin, hopes to replicate the super Bowl’s success, which has showcased artists like Rihanna and The Weeknd.
The tournament, featuring teams such as Chelsea, Manchester City, Real Madrid, and Paris St-Germain, will take place across the U.S. from June 15 to July 13. The expanded Club World Cup now includes 32 teams, a critically important increase from the previous seven, as part of its strategy for greater global recognition.
“This show will be unforgettable – not just for its spectacle on a landmark night, but also for the lasting impact it will make,” said Fifa president Gianni infantino.
Lionel Messi is expected to participate with Inter Miami, though the team’s inclusion has generated some discussion. Cristiano Ronaldo, however, will not be participating, having declined offers. His contract with Al-Nassr concludes at the end of June.
What’s next
The expanded Club World Cup, complete with a star-studded half-time show, seeks to establish itself as a major event on the global soccer calendar, drawing in new audiences and boosting its international appeal with live music.
