A important number ‍of French films are in contention for the 2025 Academy Award for best International Feature Film. According⁤ to data released this year, twenty-seven of the eighty-four films competing are French productions or co-productions.

Furthermore, nineteen of the competing films received support from the Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée (CNC), the French national film board. Seventeen films benefited from the “aid to the cinemas of the world” program, a system designed to promote cultural diversity, marking a record for this initiative.
