A important number ‍of French films are in contention for the 2025 Academy Award for best International Feature Film. According⁤ to data released this year, twenty-seven of the eighty-four films competing are French productions or co-productions.

Furthermore, nineteen of the competing films received support from the Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée (CNC), the French national film board. Seventeen films​ benefited from the “aid to the cinemas of the world” program, a system designed to promote cultural diversity, marking a record for this‌ initiative.
