Ross Chastain secured a stunning victory in the Coca-Cola 600, overcoming notable challenges through teamwork.The Trackhouse Racing team rallied to prepare Chastain’s backup car after a practise crash, working until 2 a.m. to ensure it was race-ready. Chastain drove the No. 1 Chevrolet from the back of the field to first place, a feat never before accomplished in the Coca-Cola 600.
Meanwhile, Hendrick Motorsports faced disappointment. William Byron lost after dominating much of the race, adn Kyle Larson’s attempt at running the “Double”—competing in both the Indy 500 and Coca-Cola 600 on the same day—ended prematurely. Larson recorded two DNFs, crashing out of both races. At Charlotte, Larson initially led but later hit the wall. His team spent considerable time repairing the damage, only for him to be caught in a wreck past the race’s halfway mark.
