Cork’s coffee shops will host Coffee House Lates, a new pilot initiative, on November 28 and 29. This program will feature 12 independent cafes opening late to offer free events.
The events include coffee tastings, live music, comedy, art, dancing, festive shopping, and knitting. The initiative, organized by the Cork Business Association, aims to highlight Cork’s coffee culture and meet the demand for alcohol-free activities in the city.
Organizers want to encourage coffee shops to extend their hours. Fiona Collins, Cork City Council night-time economy advisor, stated the goal is to broaden options for locals and visitors who prefer not to drink.
Event highlights for November 28 include:
- Live jazz at Nádúr Deli from 6 PM
- Complimentary coffee tasting at Café Moly from 6 PM
- Art exhibition launch at Filter from 6 PM
On November 29, activities will feature:
- Knitting night at Greenwich from 6 PM
- Oldies music night at The Grumpy Baker from 6 PM
- Grand opening of Old Town Taqueria Café with snacks from 5 PM
All events are free, but some may require advance booking. For the complete list of events and participating cafes, visit: Cork Business Association.
