Coleen Rooney Takes Charge: I’m A Celebrity Camp Leader Race Heats Up in Launch Episode

Coleen Rooney will join notable figures on the beach in the premiere episode of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! on Sunday. The show will feature famous contestants including Alan Halsall, Melvin Odoom, GK Barry, and Barry McGuigan. The celebrities will form pairs and tackle challenges to become camp leaders. Rooney will team up with Dean McCullough.

Leaders will enjoy benefits like being exempt from chores and resting in the leaders’ lodge. Other contestants include Oti Mabuse, Tulisa Contostavlos, Jane Moore, and Danny Jones.

Before this series, ITVX aired Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story, a documentary on Rooney’s life. Rooney became known as “Wagatha Christie” when she accused Rebekah Vardy of leaking stories to the press. A judge later ruled that Rooney’s claims were “substantially true.”

Vardy recently expressed her lack of interest in discussing their past feud and remarked that Rooney seems to follow her lead. Vardy stated there are no hard feelings towards Rooney but acknowledged lingering issues from their conflict.

Rooney commented on her time in the jungle, stating she hopes viewers will understand her better. This year’s cast does not include any politicians, unlike previous seasons.

The show will air on Sunday at 9 PM on ITV1 and ITVX. There are rumors about Maura Higgins and Richard Coles joining later in the season.
