Stanford’s Football Future: A Power Ranking Analysis

Updated June 11,2025
‍

Stanford’s college football future power rankings are under scrutiny as the team navigates significant changes. With the transfer portal reshaping rosters,‌ projecting long-term success requires a revised approach. these rankings ⁢focus ‌on the next two seasons, 2025 and ‍2026, providing a snapshot of the current landscape and Stanford’s place within it.

Evaluating teams⁣ involves ⁣several ⁢key categories, including the returning‌ quarterback situation, the likelihood of a multiyear starter, the strength of the offensive and defensive lines, overall roster management, star power, and the quality of the coaching staff. While excelling in every area isn’t necessary, strong roster management, line-of-scrimmage play, and some star power are crucial for promising teams.

The⁢ quarterback position is in flux. Ashton ‌Daniels, the Cardinal’s leading ⁣passer and rusher in 2024,transferred to Auburn. Elijah Brown remains with the team, offering some continuity. The likelihood of securing a multiyear quarterback depends heavily on the next head coach. Brown, a sophomore, and UCF transfer Dylan ⁢Rizk both have multiple years of eligibility remaining. Oregon State transfer ⁣Ben Gulbranson, who had a 7-1 record as a starter in ⁣2022, is entering his final year.

Stanford’s offensive line has experienced some losses through the transfer⁤ portal, but tackles Kahlil House and Simione Pale, along with guard Jack Leyrer, ⁢are returning starters. The team has ‌also added Niki‍ Prongos (UCLA), Nick Fattig (Texas Tech), and‌ Nathan Mejia (Sacramento State) to bolster the line. The defensive line saw minimal disruption, with Anthony Franklin and Zach Rowell among the ‌returning players.⁢ Though, the line needs emerging stars to elevate its performance.

A late coaching change ‌in March led‍ to roster adjustments, with players like David Bailey and Emmett Mosley V transferring out. Key additions include Hunter⁣ Barth (Cal),Gulbranson,Rizk,Fattig, and Breylan Thompson (Yale). Wisconsin wide⁢ receiver transfer C.J. Williams joined the team earlier in the winter. stanford’s 2025 recruiting ‌class is ranked ‍No. 43, but maintaining that level of success might potentially be challenging given the current uncertainties.
