Updated rankings released today, February 16, 2026, show familiar names at the top, but also some notable movement within the classes. Class 6A: Consistency at the Top

In Class 6A, Chaparral maintains its hold on the number one spot, boasting a record of 19-2. Ralston Valley remains firmly in second at 20-1, continuing a strong season. Arvada West also holds steady at number three, mirroring Ralston Valley’s impressive 20-1 record. Rangeview and Rock Canyon round out the top five, both maintaining their positions from previous rankings with records of 17-3 and 18-3 respectively.

A significant shift occurred further down the list, with Horizon jumping to eighth place from tenth, and Cherry Creek climbing to ninth from twelfth. George Washington experienced a slight dip, falling from eighth to tenth with a 13-7 record. These movements highlight the competitive nature of Class 6A basketball, where a few key wins or losses can dramatically alter the standings.

Class 5A: Tight Competition

The Class 5A rankings reveal a similarly competitive environment. Palisade leads the way with a 19-2 record, followed closely by Severance at 17-3. Cheyenne Mountain made a notable leap, moving up to fifth from sixth, while Eagle Valley also climbed the ranks, rising from eighth to sixth. Lewis-Palmer and Rampart both experienced slight declines, falling from fifth to seventh and seventh to eighth respectively. Green Mountain and Silver Creek both saw significant upward movement, jumping to ninth and tenth from eleventh and sixteenth, respectively, demonstrating the volatility within the top ten.

Class 4A: Montezuma-Cortez Remains Undefeated

Montezuma-Cortez continues to dominate Class 4A, maintaining its perfect 20-0 record and holding the top spot. Kent Denver remains a strong contender in second place with a 17-3 record, followed by Holy Family at 16-3. Timnath also holds its position at number four, maintaining a 17-2 record.

Aspen moved up to fifth from sixth, while Denver West dropped from fifth to sixth despite maintaining a perfect 20-0 record. Eaton and Lamar both held steady at seventh and eighth, respectively. Coal Ridge and Prospect Ridge Academy also remained consistent in their rankings, holding ninth and tenth place.

Class 3A: Forge Christian Takes the Lead

A shakeup at the top of Class 3A sees Forge Christian claiming the number one ranking with a 19-1 record, jumping from third place. Strasburg remains a strong force in second with a 17-2 record. Banning Lewis Academy experienced a slight drop, falling from first to third with a perfect 18-0 record. Yuma and Resurrection Christian round out the top five, with records of 17-2 and 14-5 respectively.

Windsor Charter Academy and Peyton both saw slight declines, while Roaring Fork and Wiggins held steady in their positions. Sierra Grande and De Beque both saw upward movement, climbing into the top ten.

Class 2A & 1A: Continued Dominance

In Class 2A, Simla continues to lead with a 14-4 record, followed closely by Sanford at 18-1. Heritage Christian and Golden View Classical Academy both moved up in the rankings, while Twin Peaks Classical Academy also saw a positive shift. Byers experienced a slight drop, falling from third to sixth.

Class 1A sees McClave maintaining its top spot with a 16-2 record, while Nucla remains undefeated at 19-0. Flatirons Academy made a significant jump to third, and Cheyenne Wells experienced a slight decline. Stratton and Prairie round out the top five.
