Acting U.S. Attorney J Bishop Grewell said Soliman targeted elderly protesters, some in their late 80s, with “Molotov cocktails…burning them as thay peacefully walked…to draw attention to Israeli hostages held in Gaza.” the suspect also reportedly tried to purchase a firearm but was prevented due to his citizenship status.
