Columbia Sportswear has entered into a logistics partnership with global shipping giant Maersk to manage its pick-and-pack operations in the United Kingdom, according to recent reporting from Kaiji Press. Under the agreement, the apparel brand will transition its supply chain infrastructure from its previous distribution setup in Cambrai, France, to Maersk’s established logistics facility located in Tamworth, near Birmingham.
Logistics Shift to Tamworth Facility
The move shifts Columbia Sportswear’s operational hub for the UK market directly into the West Midlands. According to Kaiji Press, the brand’s fulfillment processes will now be handled out of Maersk’s site in Tamworth. The facility serves as an existing distribution center for the shipping conglomerate, offering integrated warehousing and order fulfillment services designed to streamline regional retail supply chains.
Transition Away From French Operations
Prior to the new partnership, Columbia Sportswear relied on product distribution originating from Cambrai, France. By shifting the pick-and-pack operations to the Tamworth hub near Birmingham, the outdoor apparel brand positions its inventory closer to UK retail channels and end consumers. The relocation alters the cross-border logistics route that previously serviced British storefronts and digital orders from the French mainland.
