Clippers Announce 2026 Coaching Staff, Guardians Alum Joins Team

Columbus Clippers manager Andy Tracy will return for his sixth season at the helm in 2026, leading a coaching staff that includes a recent addition with ties to the Cleveland Guardians. The Clippers announced the full coaching roster today, February 5, 2026.

Former Major League pitcher Nick Wittgren, who played for the Cleveland Guardians among other teams, has been named a pitching coach for the Clippers. Wittgren announced his retirement from professional baseball last year after a career that included stints with the Miami Marlins, St. Louis Cardinals, and Kansas City Royals. He will work alongside Andrew Moore, who returns to the Clippers after previously coaching in Single-A Lake County.

Daniel Robertson will continue as Tracy’s bench coach, marking his fifth season within the Guardians system and his third as the Clippers’ bench coach. Tracy has a 356-360 record over his five seasons managing the Clippers, including a second-half title in 2024.

On the hitting side, Matt Angle is preparing for his second season as Columbus’ hitting coach, having previously served as an outfielder and hitting coach for the Ohio State Buckeyes. He will be joined by Ordomar Valdez, who moves up from a hitting coach position with Lake County.

Mac Seibert is being promoted to development coach for the Clippers, coming from a managerial role with the Dominican Summer League Guardians. The Clippers’ athletic training staff will also see a promotion, with Frank Sammons joining Jake Legan, the 2025 International League Athletic Trainer of the Year, after both served in Lake County.

Rounding out the staff, Tyler Grisdale and Mo Cuevas, who was named the 2024 Eastern League Strength Coach of the Year, will comprise the strength and conditioning team.

The Clippers will open their 2026 season on March 27th with a game against the Iowa Cubs. Their first home game at Huntington Park will be on March 31st against the Indianapolis Indians.
