Reginald D. Hunter Faces Prosecution Over Anti-Semitic messages

American comedian Reginald D.Hunter is facing a private prosecution initiated by the Campaign against Antisemitism (CAA) regarding social media posts sent to a woman. The 56-year-old is accused of sending offensive communications to Heidi Bachram via X,formerly Twitter,on aug. 24, Sept. 10, and Sept. 11 of last year.
Hunter was expected to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court. However, Deputy Chief Magistrate Tan Ikram issued a warrant for his arrest and ordered him to appear july 7.
Prosecutor Donal Lawler informed the court that Hunter, a ”well-known comedian,” is being privately prosecuted by the CAA. The charges stem from an allegedly “grossly offensive” computer-generated sexual image sent to Bachram in August. Two subsequent messages sent in the following days are alleged to be anti-Semitic.
