Actress Beatriz Rico has fiercely criticized the television program “Public Mirror” and one of its ⁣collaborators, accusing them of disseminating “infamous bulos” (infamous falsehoods)⁢ regarding the controversial birthday party of footballer lamine Yamal. ⁣The incident, which involved the hiring of artists with achondroplasia, has drawn important backlash as such spectacles are now prohibited by law, carrying fines of up to €600,000.

the Law⁢ Against Exploitative Entertainment

Rico highlighted that the law, in effect for two years, explicitly forbids performances that exploit ⁣individuals with ⁤dwarfism, a clear reference to⁣ the events surrounding Yamal’s birthday. She pointed out that the collaborator in⁢ question, who she did not⁣ name directly but implied was a regular on the‍ show, has a history of spreading misinformation, particularly when comments are disabled⁤ on their⁤ posts, preventing any form of ‍contradiction.

“They don’t allow⁤ comments on their posts so that no one contradicts the bulos that they ‍release (it’s not the first time), so there’s no other way than to mention it,” ‍Rico tweeted⁤ from‍ her X profile, sharing a video of ⁤the journalist’s appearance on the Susanna griso program.

A Pattern of “Strange” Statements

The⁢ former contestant of‍ “Survivors 2025” further elaborated on ⁣her criticism, sharing three news articles that⁣ detailed the legal prohibition. She⁤ expressed her dismay ⁤at individuals ⁣who, in her view, seem to revel in negativity, citing examples such as discouraging bullfighting, “encouraging” ⁣parties with people⁤ with disabilities, and justifying the ⁤killing of children in Gaza as “self-defense.” rico noted that⁢ these individuals consistently “say the same things,” suggesting a predictable⁤ and concerning pattern of thought.

Defending Basic Human Decency

Beatriz Rico implored the public not to normalize⁢ the idea that advocating for peace and respecting people with disabilities is somehow linked to being a ⁣”left-wing radical.” She argued that such associations serve to dehumanize individuals and undermine ‍fundamental principles of empathy ⁣and ‍human rights.

Directly addressing “Public Mirror,” Rico stated that their collaborator “misinforms” and spreads⁣ “infamous bulos according to their ‍ideology.” She expressed concern that audiences readily accept this misinformation as truth.

“The answers have been canceled on networks as they know ⁤they will contradict it. That’s ⁣playing dirty. improper of a serious program,” Rico concluded, ⁢emphasizing her belief that⁤ the program’s actions are unethical and damaging.
