Daniel‍ Morissette, chief financial officer for CommonSpirit Health, will retire oct. 31, according to a securities filing. Morissette has been with CommonSpirit and its predecessor,Dignity Health,for nearly a decade.

The CommonSpirit board of trustees⁣ has‍ launched a nationwide search to find a new‍ CFO. The health system expects to have a replacement selected before Morissette ⁣departs in October. ⁣The new CFO will play a key‍ role as CommonSpirit continues to focus on improving its operating⁤ performance⁤ and navigating financial challenges.

Before joining CommonSpirit,Morissette held positions at PriceWaterhouseCoopers,Chicago Medical School,the University of Toledo,and Stanford Health Care. He ‍also serves ⁢as an advisor to LifePoint Health.

The health system reported a -2.5% operating margin for the three months ending March 31, an improvement from the⁣ -3.9% margin during the same ⁤period the previous year. CommonSpirit faces ongoing challenges,including elevated labor and supply costs,as ⁤well as ⁣potential Medicaid cuts.
