Nearly Five Decades of Pediatric Research Funding
–>As the organization prepares for its 50th anniversary, it is implementing a new CRM platform and expanding its digital content portfolio—notably including the podcast Microscope. To support this growth, operational details have been announced for a permanent 35-hour-per-week communications and events coordinator position.
–>Hybrid Work Structure and Compensation Package
The permanent position operates on a hybrid schedule requiring three days in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with a flexible schedule outside of event seasons.
Compensation ranges from 44 000 $ à 50 000 $. Additional benefits include a group RRSP with a 4 percent employer match, three weeks of vacation plus an extra week off between Christmas and New Year’s Day, a summer schedule, group insurance, and a training and development budget.
–>Driving Event Communications and Digital Strategy
Reporting to the communications and events management team, the coordinator will produce event fundraising communications, maintain newsletter and website content, and support annual publications.
–>The role covers event strategies, audience targeting, and key messaging developed alongside the events and sponsorships lead. Responsibilities include producing and updating event website content, executing Meta advertising campaigns aimed at driving registrations and donations, and managing social media channels.
–>Media Relations and On-Site Production
The coordinator will also handle participant communications before, during, and after events, provide live on-site coverage through photos and videos, draft press releases, and coordinate media follow-ups.
–>Additional duties involve staging publicity stunts, organizing photo and video shoots, coordinating visual content suppliers such as photographers and videographers, and managing ambassador participation across content channels. Performance tracking focuses on reach, engagement, and conversion rates toward inscriptions and donations.
–>Taking Charge of the Microscope Podcast
Under the direction of the communications and events department, which determines topics and strategies, the coordinator takes charge of producing the Microscope podcast.
–>This responsibility spans from recording schedules to final publication, working in collaboration with the show’s host and Studio SF. The position provides a broad overview spanning podcasting, events, digital platforms, and publications within a compact team where individual impact is immediate and measurable.
