Comoros President Survives Stabbing Attack, Attacker Found Dead

Comoros President Gazali Ousmani was the ⁢target‍ of‌ a stabbing attack on​ Friday, suffering‌ minor wounds, according to the Public Prosecutor in ‌Moroni.

The attack occurred during a funeral ceremony for a prominent religious official in the capital’s suburb, ‌Moroni. The president was slightly injured with a knife, but his ​condition is stable.

The perpetrator of the attack, ‍24-year-old soldier Ahmed Abdo, was taken into custody by security services. However, ‍he was found dead in his isolation room on Saturday, under mysterious circumstances.

According to ⁣the ‌Public Prosecutor, Abdo was isolated in a room until he calmed down, but when investigators came‌ to question him, they found him lying on the ground, unresponsive. Examination confirmed‌ that he was dead.

Abdo, a resident of the Suleiman-Estandara region, was the sole perpetrator of the attack. The incident has raised concerns about the security ⁤situation in Comoros.
