Compact Internal Optical Zoom Camera for Balanced Gimbal Use

Canon U.S.A., Inc. Announced the launch of the EOS R6 V full-frame camera and the RF20-50mm F4 L IS USM PZ lens on May 13, 2026. The new hardware is designed for content creators and advanced videographers who require a combination of portability and high-end video performance.

The EOS R6 V is part of the EOS V-series, a lineup specifically developed for video capture. This series aims to provide users with control, operability and reliability while minimizing creative constraints for various formats, including podcasts, short-form social video, and long-form productions.

The camera is equipped with a 32.5MP full-frame CMOS sensor. Its primary video specifications include 7K 60p RAW and 7K 30p Open Gate recording, as well as support for Slow and Fast Mode.

For 4K workflows, the EOS R6 V supports oversampled recording up to 60p and uncropped 4K 120p to facilitate high-quality slow-motion capture. The system also incorporates advanced autofocus tracking optimized for video shooting and in-body image stabilization to assist with handheld operation.

Accompanying the camera is the RF20-50mm F4 L IS USM PZ, a built-in power zoom lens. The lens features an internal optical zoom design intended to maintain a balanced center of gravity, a characteristic Canon describes as essential for gimbal use.

The lens is characterized by a compact and lightweight design to support comfortable use over long periods. Together with the EOS R6 V, the lens and associated accessories are positioned as a streamlined system for creators who frequently capture video on a daily basis.
